Whether you’re the type who enjoys travelling around the world on a regular basis, or whether you’re content with your annual summer holiday, making sure that you have the right travel insurance is one of the most important things which needs to be dealt with before you even put one foot through the airport doors.

Nowadays, there are so many travel insurance providers, you really will be spoilt for choice, and this gives you the freedom to choose insurance which fully suits your needs.

Travel insurance can unsure that you’re covered when the unexpected happens- whether this is losing your luggage, theft or suffering an accident which results in the need for medical care.

Knowing that you are fully covered whilst you’re abroad can also go a very long way in giving you that extra peace of mind- so you can concentrate on really enjoying yourself.

Some people neglect to take out adequate travel insurance as they think that will add to the costs of an already expensive trip, although this is certainly no excuse, as insurance is really affordable nowadays.

You wouldn’t compromise your home or belongings by not taking out home insurance, or compromise your vehicle by failing to take out car or van insurance, so why put yourself at risk while you’re away from home?!

But, the times I’ve been to Wales I’ve had a great time and if the weather is good you can’t get anywhere nicer.

As I can’t afford a holiday (a new extension has taken care of that!) my friend is lending me his static caravan so I can at leats get away from household chores for a few days.

So, I’m still packing my string bikini, flip flops and sundresses so I can mosey on down to the beaches, but also my fleeces, jeans and wellies - just in case the sun doesn’t shine down on me!

Colleges and University’s have more or less finished for the summer so it’s time to celebrate I’m sure for many of these young students. What better way to blow away all those cobwebs from studying so hard but to get away in the sunshine and have lots of fun.

Ibiza is aVery cool place to go. I recommend staying away from the San Antonia end as it’s full of lager louts but stay in Ibiza Town or the North part of the island and it is very beautiful.

Ibiza is obviously known for it’s clubbing culture but I’ve been for both. I’ve seen the clubs and bars and the party side of the island but I’ve also been and had a very chilled experience of visiting the beaches around the island and experiencing the fantastic fish restaurants.

So, in my humble opinion Ibiza is worth a visit whether you’re old, young, a clubber or not! Enjoy!

This was a record set in the 1930’s by a man called Bob Graham who covered 72 miles, 42 peaks all within 24 hours. My cousin Paul has challenged himself to complete this and so my family and I are going to be there to support him with lots of words of encouragement but also providing food and drink etc.

I wish him all the luck in the world and after all the training I believe he’s put into this, I’m confident he will succeed – Good luck Paul – I’ll run with you in the last few miles!!

We’ve managed to have more than a days worth of sunshine so it’s looking like we can start to plan a little ahead and have some weekends to look forward to. It’s just the right time of year for packing up your tent and camping equipment and your walking shoes and getting away to the Lake District for the weekend.

You may just like a gentle stroll or you may like to walk up one of the Lakes many peaks for more of an adventure but whatever level of fitness you are, or even if you just want to sit and do nothing – there are plant of amazing views for you to do just that.

Although it attracts many tourists, once up a mountain you’ll feel a million miles away of everything apart from the birds in the sky.

Only another hour to go and I’m off for the weekend. Tomorrow morning I’m driving down to the Cotswold for the weekend. Only to stay with Family but I find the whole place such a dream to be.

Fortunately the weather is going to be sunny and they live in the middle of nowhere with only fields and country lans surrounding it. There a beautiful village up the round with a fantastic pub which serve delicious food.

If you like just meandering around, eating cream teas and just basically chilling out – they are many villages which are just too picturesque to miss out on.

I’m lucky that I can stay with family but there are plenty of hotels or Bed and Breakfasts to choose from that are not too expensive.

Lets hope the Pimms is on ice for when we get there!

Are you interested in saving the environment? If so, why not sign up for Earth Hour? Earth Hour is taking place on the 27th March at 8.30pm and it’s when billions of people across the world will switch off their lights for an hour. Done through WWF, Earth Hour focuses on climate change. Climate change has to be one of the most serious threats that is facing nature and so global action is essential.

Earth Hour was particularly successful in 2009 with landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, The Empire State Building and the Sydney Opera House all taking part and turning off their lights to show world leaders that something must be done.

Will you be switching off?

If you are looking for a cheap (ish) trip away at the weekend, have you considered going to Scotland? There are hundreds of different places you can visit including major cities or a cottage in the country.

If you do enjoy visiting the hustling and bustling cities, then Edinburgh or Glasgow will be your best bet. Glasgow is Scotland’s biggest city and is full with museums, shops and restaurants. Edinburgh is a great place for those of you who like to take a good photo. With its castle and events (including big new year celebrations) that take place on a regular basis, it’s the place to be.

Scotland is easily accessible via car, train or plane and accommodation is easy to find and relatively cheap. Get yourself there!

Many people are deciding to hit the slopes this month for a winter holiday, but it has been urged that people check the small print on their insurance documents before they leave! You may think that as you have purchased insurance, it’s going to cover you for everything, but this is not the case! Things like ice skating and skiing can sometimes be classed as “hazardous sports” and therefore, may not be covered in the policy.

It’s probably a good idea to ring up the company you took the insurance out with before you jet off. You wouldn’t want to have to be out of pocket whilst you’re away for a tumble on the slopes!
